I am a wife, mother, grandmother and hold a full time job in banking. Teaching others (informally) about budgeting, how to handle debit and credit cards, balancing their accounts, and basics about buying or leasing a home have always been a PASSION of mine. I have done it over the years with my son and his friends, relatives, etc. Since October 2007, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with the women at our local abuse shelter in these areas and it has been extremely rewarding. I would like to continue this work and expand on it. Winning your program would enable me to provide better information to the people that I touch every day. There is so much need for this type of information and I am passionate about making sure people have what they need to succeed in their lives. I don't want anyone to make a mistake in finance just because no one ever offered to show them what they needed to know for everyday life. Please help me in my quest to help others.

Why?? Why, you ask?? Hello...the answer is in the title itself. "...For Fun and Profit." Is there a better combination than fun and profit? My goodness, it's better than sun and fun...better than fun and games...better than profit and loss. It's fun AND profit!!! Seriously, though, they say the best way to learn something is to teach it. I want to learn.

I would like to learn how to "Teach A Money Class for Fun and Profit." I am a spiritual healer/teacher in Santa Fe, NM. I find that many of my clients and students have serious issues surrounding money and and abundance that need to be healed and cleared. Most of these issues come from faulty agreements made as children!

These agreements, such as, "Love of money is the root of all evil", "It isn't possible to be spiritual and rich", "I'm no good with money anyway, so why try", "Money doesn't grow on trees" and "You have to work really hard to make money" are damaging, not only to the people making the agreements but also to the next generation, as these agreements are handed-down as truth.

I believe that money is energy and that how one manages one's energy is a fundamental issue required for spiritual growth. Self-actualization requires money, both for things to inspire you and encourage your growth and in having the basic needs taken care of so that one has the leisure time necessary to consider spirituality.

I would be very grateful for the opportunity to help people understand how to make their money work for them instead of the other way around.

Thank you for your consideration.

Hi Leo,

Thank you very much for your inspirational weekly messages. I would love to learn how to "Teach a Money Class For Fun and Profit" because the area I live in has a lot of people living in poverty. It's pretty sad. I started on my "money quest" years ago while I lived in Illinois. It was out of necessity. I wanted to buy a house and couln't afford it with the way I was going through money like water. I got the Tightwad Gazette books out of the library and loved them so much I ended up buying the Tightwad Gazette Complete book. I read it over and over and over again to this day! I used the information and paid off all of my debts but my house, which I sold and then moved to Oklahoma. I couldn't have afforded the move if I hadn't been doing a ton of little things that added up to big savings! I now live in Oklahoma. I used the profit from the sale of my house in Illinois for a 20% down payment on a lakefront property (nothing fancy, just a trailer), just bought a new truck, and have some credit card debt. I have slacked off a lot on my tightwad ways and I'm looking for inspiration to get back on track. I have started baking my own bread again and cooking large portions of meals to freeze in meal-size portions in the freezer. We don't eat a lot of meat. I have started a large garden. The inspiration of how to "Teach A Money Class For Fun and Profit" would be a great step for me to teach others and motivate myself at the same time. I live in an area where I see people who can't afford to buy clothing for their kids, themselves, or food, and can't afford medical care. It is really quite sad. In the past I have chosen an "Angel" at Christmas to purchase gifts for (one year we bought the little boy a bicycle as well, I would have loved to see his face), and I used to bring food to the local Salvation Army, but I can't afford to do that unless I get back on track completely with my tightwadding. The purchase of my recent truck has motivated me the most since I need to get back on track in order to be able to make the payments. I absolutely love tightwadding, and I love reading any money book I can get my hands on. I read the "Millionnaire Next Door" years ago and loved it. It was an eye opener. Healthy bank accounts don't stand out! Anyway, Leo, I would love the chance to help my neighbors with this class, as well as get myself in a better situation where I can start saving money for my retirement, donating food again to the Salvation Army for the locals, and choose an "Angel" or two at Christmas every year.
Thank you very much for this great opportunity!
Sincerely,
Dawn Amis

Leo,

My business would work quite well with yours. My book, All They'll Need to Know, helps people record their financial and personal information so that their loved ones will know what to do in their absence. Since starting Emerson Publications, I've branched out and write an article each week about preparedness. Usually it has something to do with money. My newsletter, Family First, has a few thousand subscribers, and I also am the president of a women's group at my church. I'd love to have the information because our leaders are always encouraging us to get out of debt. It just seems that all of this rolls together and could really be helpful to a lot of people here locally.

Hi Leo,
Thanks for your great newsletters. I always get inspiration from reading them. Loved the quote today that said "you don't have money problems, you have idea problems". Been reworking my financial life and this reminded me to stay open to fresh approaches. It's easy to get stuck doing things a certain way, and it takes real effort to push thru those percieved boundaries.

I really enjoy your practical yet compassionate advice. You never criticize or put down...just present in a fun motivational way. The videos are great too! Have gotten some good belly laughs from the goofy ones!

Well, have a good one and thanks again.

Sincerly,
J.J. in Ohio

I'd like to win a copy of your "Teach A Money Class for Fun and Profit" because:

a) My husband and I have found your advice very helpful to us in helping us pay down our debt and I would like to be able to share that with others so they can also benefit.

b) I'm at a crossroads now where I'm looking for something new in my life that would stimulate me while creating a nice income and allowing me to do that meeting new people - so your course would be perfect.

c) I do believe in teaching that which you need to learn the most, so this would be a good way to really cement the principles you teach.

Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of your program!

I attended college for a couple of years hoping to become a French teacher. A business opportunity came up at the time and I jumped at it. Now, several years later, teaching is still a possibility, but only teaching something which would be more valuable than learning French, finances, the language spoken throughout the world.

Teach a money class for "fun and profit." What would that be. Makes you wonder doesn't. Once I learn that, why wouldn't it be fun to teach others that! So let me win and have that control in my life and family.

Leo, I would like to win Teach a Money Class For Fun & Profit because even though I've read Own Your Own Paycheck and it makes absolute perfect sense to me, I have yet to follow through. I think I'm one of those people who, like when I was teaching my son to tie his shoes, learn the best by teaching someone else. When I stopped trying to make him learn and let him teach me, he got it right away. Also, I wish I had started learning more about personal finance when I was much younger- it's so important! It is harder to teach an old dog new tricks. So if I win, I'd like to focus on younger groups to install good money habits early. Thanks.

Leo,

I have been a bookkeeper for individuals and small businesses for over 35 years (Yikes, that scares me when I say it in print!) I am in the midst of developing a specialty "project" bookkeeping business to service clients of a successful tax negotiating accounting practice here in California. One of the components I most want to incorporate is being able to communicate clearly and effectively with the referrals I am given.

After helping them summarize and report their business and personal transactions for their filing crisis, the plan is to initiate an ongoing relationship with some of them to give them a customized system for recording their activities. They would have the option of keeping their own records or of having my group continue producing their work in a more timely and routine manner.

I think learning how to speak concisely and "in English", rather than "bookkeepenese" to and with them would make for a powerful training adjunct to the skills and experience we already have. I find reading your emails and publications to be both positive and informative and suspect your soon-to-be speaking training will be one more educational facet to add to our plan.

Truth be told I don't have immediate plans to take on public speaking. I want the training for the one-to-one conversations I am going to have with clients.

Winning a free copy would be an unexpected treat; investing and participating in your training is a given.

Thank you,

One of my many passions it to serve others. Last year I took the Crown Finacial Money Map Coach training thru church. Those I wish to help foremost are singles, many of whom have children and mounting debt.

Many people say money is the root of evil, yet, I see how it is humbling to be poor and want, and need, so little.

Depression in our culture is on the rise. Money and relationships, the lack there of, is two of the major causes. This is why and where I want to focus my time and resources.

Those I talk to and work with simply want to live a comfortable secure financial life. We are rich in many other important areas of life-Family and Friends.

I know people who have put off getting into a relationship because they are not financially secure and feel unworthy of love due to an inability to make a significant contribution (role) to financial health of the relationship.

I would be delighted to teach your principles in financial success so more people can enjoy and embrace financial security here in Wisconsin.

In the end, when all else is gone, all we have left is the relationships we build along the way.

Hey, Leo Quinn,

I love your show! I predict that that is what they'll be saying a year from now. When Oprah interviews you and you get your own TV spot.

Anyway, the reason why I wan't to learn 'How to teach a money class for fun and profit is that I'm teaching a bunch of teens a money class in my own 10 week program. Your info, along with a lot of other materials will aid tremendously in that endeavor. The parents of these kids especially love the idea. For many of them, their lives are spent playing catch up for retirement. They don't want the same issue for their child if they can help it.

If your 'How to teach a money class for fun and profit is half as good as your 'How to own your own paycheck again'(e-book and materials), it'll be more than worth the price. I don't expect to win, being number 26,437 in your list of 30,000 subscribers, but thanks to your programs and others like it, I can afford not to:-)

Hi Leo, love your stuff! I'd like to help change our culture's ideas about debt. This spend our way to wealth menatality will destroy our great nation. The gov't sets the worst example. Imagine we had trillions in the treasury instead of trillions in debt. Invision the country we'd be. What if we flipped all our personal debt and had that much invested in ourselves and families instead of paying 30% to the credit card companies. Can you see it?

I beleive it's not to late to turn it all around. I beleive in your mission to get the message out, to get this nation out of debt. When you're a slave to debt you can't move forward, you're trapped and miss oportunities. I'm with you and I see this class as a way to make a difference in my community and the world.

This is huge and important. It's not about money, it's about mindset and lifestyle. This class may not solve everything but it's a BIG step in the right direction, we have to start somewhere. I've wnated to teach a class like this for a long time so it's a dream come true Leo. Thank you!

Leo this is a great opportunity to work with your program "Teach a Money Class for Fun and Profit".
I would love to win a free copy of your program.
I have been following your progress in the credit field and the help that you are giving to others. You have concise accurate information in your program How to Own Your Own Paycheck Again. I have been in the mortgage business and finance business for many years. I appreciate people like you that make a great contribution to society.

I live in Las Vegas and I have found that

1. We have the lowest scores in Math with our school system.
2. Being a 24 hour town people do not have the time to slow down and learn about money.
3. I presently have a class in process on how to sell your own home.
4. Many people make their investments at the casinos.
5. This would be a new challenge to be able to help people in this area.
6. I plan on giving scholarships to 10% of the enrollees
7. I plan to use the news media and offer prizes of free scholarships to get more people to attend
8. The key words are “community service”
9. I want to teach others in our community to present this program to obtain a greater exposure for our community’s wellbeing.
10. My wife supports safe nest here in Las Vegas. This is an organization that works with battered women. They need this type of program as they start their new lives.
11. Last on this list but first in my heart is that I will definitely give 10% of my profits to my church and other groups that need help.

Leo, I am what you and others call "a senior." Anyone past 50 qualifies. :-)

Talking with seniors today, I find many are loaded down in debt and are working meager minimum-wage jobs in an effort to live a better lifestyle. This action leaves no quality time for family and friends. :-(

I would like the opportunity to teach seniors/adults how they can better manage their money and pay off their debts earlier thereby raising their self-esteem.

Hopefully as the seniors/adults learn how to utilize their money in a positive way, they would pass on this information to their children, thus creating a better world for all concerned.

Leo, my legacy is to leave this world a better place than when I came.

Thank you for offering me this exciting opportunity to do so by teaching your program, "Teach A Money Class for Fun & Profit"!

Leo,
Thank you for the opportuity to win this program,"Teach a Money Class for Fun and Profit"! Let me give you the background that led me to you.
I have been a disabled single mom for two and a half years now. My husband left us with $200 and a house that had no electricity, flooring, plumbing, except for one toilet and a shower and all the other finishing touches. I made the house livable, and continue to work to finish. Of course I got myself into debt to make the home livable and pay the morgage, but at this point I am working even harder on debt elimination than I did on the house, and that's HARD!
I was always scanning the library, internet and radio programs to find ways that I can make money and pay off my debt, finish my house and pay it off, not to mention sending my son to college. Here is where I found you.
Teaching a class is not only a niche that I can comfortably fit into and physically do, but I have always been a motivational person to friends and others, wanting to pass my blessings of knowledge on to them. In addition,I want to be an example to my 14 year old son and others. I don't know if I will be able to afford this program, but it would be a blessing to win the program and pass those blessing onto others by helping them get out of debt. I know that my enthusiam and stregth will show through in this program. I know that if I, with all my limitations, can do all these things then so can anyone else. I just needed something prepared for me to deliver. This looks like the ticket! I would call this class, "Freedom from Debt", because I know how freeing your life is when you get ahold of your life and your debt! Freedom is what our country is all about!

Leo, the reasons I desire to teach your class, is not only for the extra funds, but:
1. To learn how to manage my own money, since I just filed bankruptcy.
2. To instruct my daughters to save some of their money every paycheck.
3. To teach other that are low income how to get and stay out of debt. No matter what their income might be.
4. To expand my horizons for my own lift and meet new people and make new friends. Lifetime friends.
Thanks, Susan

Hi Leo,
The main reason I would like to teach your class here in South Africa, is that I have used your debt cruncher and found it helped me to prioritise my debt and start getting out of the debt trap.

I believe your system is fair and workable, and even if your new "teach" programme is written with US$, it will still work over here. I have confidence in your products.

"I like simplicity, calmness, and fun - lots of fun." This is my Facebook description of myself. Though it only partially describes me,it fits in well with teaching a money class for "fun and profit."
Being a teacher by profession, but much more by passion, means that teaching others to be wise with their earnings and gifts would be extreme fun for me. The heartwarming feeling that comes from watching the lightbulb come on in the mind of another and show by the light in his/her eyes and bring a smile to the expression on his/her face is a pinnacle of success for the teacher and the learner.
Knowing so many people who are barely keeping their heads above the encroaching floodwaters of their debt makes me driven to show others the calmness that comes from knowing not only where the next meal is coming from but also in showing others the fun of seeing the next great opportunity and being able to take it. Financial freedom is fun. It opens my heart to giving responsibly. I want to be, in some small way, like Martha Berry, the founder of Berry College in Rome, GA, who used her vast fortune not in give away programs, but in teaching others to earn responsibly and use wisely. She began by teaching poor Appliacian children how to read and from there she continued her quest until she had founded a college with one of the largest endowments in the U.S. This school used its endowments to fund young people who wanted to work their way through college. The fun for her was in the freedom to help others become free in many ways, with financial freedom being one large inpetus. Her fun was not in giving away her fortune, but in "teaching another to fish," so to speak, so that they could make their own fun.
"Teach A Money Class For Fun & Profit" It is a concept that fits my personality (fun) and my pocketbook (profit).

Hello, Leo. The following anecdote represents my rationale for acquiring “Teach a Money Class for Fun & Profit”. If I win a copy of the program as a result of this post, it will be a bonus. If I do not, I will purchase it anyway.

While attending university in the early 90’s, I fell prey to the incessant advertising by the credit card companies. I signed up for MasterCard, VISA, and a gas card, among many others. Much to my surprise, especially since I had no income besides a part-time job to help pay for my tuition and living expenses, every application was approved. By my second year of university, I was already in over my head.

Upon my graduation, I accepted a full-time job, only to be laid off four months later. Within a few weeks, the creditors started calling, and their approach became increasingly confrontational as no payments were forthcoming. By Christmas of 1996, I had declared bankruptcy. To add insult to injury, I had to borrow the filing fee from a family member. I watched as a representative from one of my creditors drove my car away.

But, I was smart (or so I thought). I knew that I would need transportation, so before filing for bankruptcy, I leased a brand-new vehicle that I couldn’t afford. The lease was generously co-signed by my father. Not only was my credit ruined, but I now had the potential to seriously harm someone else’s.

After struggling to find work in my field, I finally settled into a suitable job. I decided that it was good time to visit the local credit counselling service, only to be told that they couldn’t help me. Apparently, my expenses far exceeded my income. I had no assets to sell to offset the payments (remember that I had a LEASED vehicle, so it was owned by the leasing company), so there seemed to be no way out.

Then, I was laid off from my new job after only seven weeks, once again a victim of “restructuring”. I managed to keep up my car payments; after all, I had my father’s credit to think about. But within a few months, I was in the final stages of being evicted from my apartment.

The result: at twenty-seven years old, I moved back in with my parents… There I was, a well-educated person with a strong work ethic, living in my parents’ basement. I cannot believe that I used to turn up my nose at people in similar situations. I know how easy it can be to end up in that position.

Now, ten years later, everything is on track. I own a house, rental properties, a growing retirement fund, and an education savings plan for my children. But I still have debts that I shouldn’t have, and they need to be properly managed.

Is this a hard-luck story? Not at all… I had the support of friends and family members throughout this process, and they truly helped me to get back on my feet. Unfortunately, not everyone approaching financial distress has such a support system available to them. I would like to help people to get out of debt before they reach the point of no return. I have no doubt that “Teach a Money Class for Fun & Profit” would serve this purpose well.

Sincerely,

Jeff

My parents were frugal, hard- working people, and they modeled good money habits for me. Unfortunately, they never took the time to teach me those things. That worked when they were growing up, because the culture supported good money management. However, by the time I grew up myself I married a man who made good money but spent even more, and the culture was sending seductive "you deserve whatever you want" messages. In spite of my solid foundation, I wound up in a financial mess.
I've since woken up, smelled the coffee, and realized that I need to take responsibility for my own life and act according to my values. I didn't like the overdrawn lifestyle, and I wanted to do my part to change it. However, I needed some help to do that, and that's where Leo's program came in.
I obtained a copy of the program and began putting it into practice. It's not necessarily easy, but it's straightforward and doable. I will be able to implement the program fully beginning this fall, when I will start my new career as a middle school teacher.
I wish my parents had taught me the importance of staying out of debt and living within my means, but since they didn't I learned the hard way. Ideally, I would like to teach people to stay out of debt in the first place, and to learn good money habits, but I would also like to help those who are already in debt get out of it. That is my main motivation for teaching a money class. Of course, the extra income would also help me get back on a firm financial footing that much quicker. Also, the idea that you should teach what you most need to learn resonates with me.
My tentative title for the money class, as I would teach it, is "Debt Free: The New American Dream." (Actually, it's the old American dream that has come full circle, but that's too involved to make a catchy title.) I would love to teach this class, and I appreciate the opportunity to win a copy.

I would love to teach a money class for fun and profit. I enjoy helping people. Leo, you helped me so much with "Owning Your Own Paycheck." If I could help someone like that, it would make me feel so good. When you get out of debt and have extra money to spend at the end of the month, it's like a big weight lifted. And while I'm teaching others, I'll be learning, too.

Thanks for this opportunity. I have my fingers crossed. :-)

Why would I want to “Teach a Money Class for Fun and Profit?
I would like to teach a money class for Fun and Profit; the profit would be a great benefit the fun sounds well like fun. I have a few friends and family that would really benefit from the education of a money class.
We used to be all classed as the Middle Class Folks but with the way times change expenses go up quicker than your income I think everyone can benefit from any financial help they can get.
I think it would make me feel great to teach others something that is useful and learn new things myself at the same time; as the saying goes you’re never too old to learn new tricks and learning about money is always interesting.
Thanks Leo for giving me the opportunity to enter the contest.

My Business IS my retirement fund.

I DO have to run a business here but that retirement fund ain't gonna do me a whole lotta good until the owner (yours truly) gets his finances straightened out.

Mixing Business with Pleasure.

People all around us are constantly trying to find that right balance between work and play-time.

If we concentrated our efforts on the play-time everything else can fall into place.

DO what you do in play-time best to build that retirement fund.

We should all plan to SNOWBALL our debts into non-existance.

Isn't it time to STACK our cards in the right order?

SPREAD THE WORD. I KNOW I WILL.

Down to Business.
I'd sure like to win one of those Free Copies.

Please teach me to Teach A Money Class For Fun and Profit because with some expert guidance I think I can have some fun in helping the people around me build those retirement funds faster.

Thank you for your time,

Robert Klein

I would like to use the information in "Teach a Money Class for Fun and Profit" for 2 reasons. 1. I have always felt drawn to help people. Helping people live without debt is sort of a passion. 2. I want to unload my debt and feel the freedom of owning my paycheck. The best way to learn is to teach and by teaching I am helping others find the freedom of being debt free.

I really want to have this class because I am in the military and I know that we in the military need some classes like these. If you go outside any Army post, you will see tons of pawn shops and quick loan shops. Us military members come from all parts of the world and many of us have never had any kind of personal finance class. I know that your book has helped me and I plan on sharing the wealth with my fellow troops. If I can help the life of just one of my fellow soldiers, then I can say "Mission Accomplished"!!
